It is getting warm again and I am having those feelings of long ago summers spent with my grandparents. For two summers I was dropped every weekday at my grandparents house while my parents went to work. It was a tiny house built in the 1920’s. It had no air-conditioning and the screen doors banged shut behind you. My grandmother had a beautiful flower garden and made me lunch everyday and sometimes breakfast. She taught me to iron, sew, and enjoy the birds in the backyard. When the house was hotter inside than the air temperature outside we would retreat to the shady patio in the back of the house and just talk and dream. At the time that is just what life was, as it often is when you are a child. You live in the moment. I so very much miss, and long for those long hot summer days with my grandparents.
